2024 Camp Groups

Summer Urchins (1-3 years)

The Little Urchins are our smallest and youngest members of the Waterman’s community center. The ages range from 1 to 3, and currently at maximum capacity with its year-round families, which is 12 students. The Little Urchins spend their days singing and dancing and exploring their neighborhood around them. Weekly themes are used as guides for activities and projects. Oftentimes the Little Urchins meet up and play with their friends who belong to the School of Fish. So, if you happen to walk by Mill Street, wave hello to them!

School of Fish (3-4 years)

The School of Fish crew are the oldest preschool students at Waterman’s, ages 3–4-year-old. Most of them are preparing for their big step to kindergarten. Each week follows a theme in which the books, activities and art projects are based around. During the summer the classroom welcomes visiting families and year-round families to be a part of the summer adventures. Days are spent exploring Ferry Landing Beach, Sage Woods and checking in on their Little Urchin friends on the playground.

Art & Adventures (5-8 years)

The Arts & Adventure students are ages 5-8, the island is their classroom. Every week the students have a theme to where they are spending time, what they are learning and how the day is filled. People from the community might also join in to help teach and show both island families and visiting families a little bit more about North Haven and its history and community.

AfterCare programs (year-round families only)

All camps have two co-leaders and an assistant. Camps run Monday to Friday from 8 am to 12 pm. Year-round families who belong to the School of Fish and Little Urchins programs, can be a part of AfterCare. AfterCare is Monday to Thursday from 12-4. Lunch must be sent with children and a child must either rest or stay on their cot during rest hour.
