PART-TIME PRESCHOOL TEACHER

 Waterman’s Community Center, a 501(c)(3) charitable corporation in North Haven, Maine, is seeking a hard-working, energetic, and creative part-time preschool teacher to work in Laugh & Learn Preschool with children ages one to five years old. Applicants must love working with young children and be capable of taking on the academic and physical demands working with preschoolers requires.

 

Job Details:

·         Hours per day: 5 – 8 hours, depending on the day

·         Days per week:  3 to 5 days a week, depending on the need

·         Earliest Starting time: 7:45AM

·         Latest Ending Time: 5:00 PM

·         Hours per week: 15 – 30

·         Duties: Classroom management and oversight, teaching and supporting young children, planning & classroom preparation, record keeping, meetings, classroom housekeeping, etc.

·         Pay: Hourly ($15 - $17), dependent on credentials and experience

·         Application deadline: As soon as suitable applicant is found.  

 

Requirements:

·         A high school diploma

·         Be at least 18 years of age

·         Have a current CPR and Pediatric First Aid Certificate

(if applicant does not currently hold such certificate, one can be acquired if and when job is offered)

·         Willingness to be part of a strong team of preschool teachers

·         Exhibit high energy and enthusiasm for working with children.

·         Commitment that all preschool programs are safely implemented and of the highest quality possible.

·         Patience and willingness to learn.

·         Exemplary time-management and organizational skills

·         Sensibly detail oriented, efficient and versatile.

 

Suggested but not required:

·         College Degree

·         Early childhood college-level course work

·         Preschool teaching experience
