Join us in celebrating National Soup Swap Day at Waterman’s on Thursday, January 21 with a Community Potluck and Soup Swap. The potluck starts at 6:00pm, the Soup Swap starts @7pm. Feel free to come to one or both events! To join in the Soup Swap, fill 6 separate one quart containers with your favorite soup, and go home with 6 different kinds of soup made by your neighbors and friends to heat up on a chilly North Haven night!
This Week’s Special Events and Notes
•Afterschool Grades K-4 Monday, January 18th, 3:15-4:30pm If it isn’t too cold, we will spend the day outdoors playing games and building a snowman. Then we will come inside for hot chocolate and board games!
• Craft Night Monday, January 18th, 7:00pm Come down to WCC for crafts and snacks!
• Programs Committee Meeting Tuesday, January 19th, 4:00pm We will meet downstairs in the coffee shop!
• Laugh and Learn Preschool Parent Advisory Meeting Wednesday, January 20th, 4:00pm
• Senior Coffee Thursday, January 21st, 9:00am
• SHOUT Afterschool Grades 5 & 6 Thursday, January 21st, 3:15-4:30pm We will continue with our theater unit by writing our own plays. Bring your ideas in!
• Community Potluck and SOUP SWAP Thursday, January 21st, 6:00pm-Potluck, 7:00pm-Soup Swap Come down to WCC to join us in celebrating North Haven’s first Soup Swap in celebration of National Soup Swap Day! It’s easy and fun to do- and you end up with 6 different and exciting kinds of soup made by your neighbors and friends. Here’s how it works: 1)Bring 6 separate 1-quart containers of your favorite soup down to Waterman’s. 2) Eat delicious potluck food, chit chat, drink some wine 3)Gather all of the soup in a central location and admire 4) Everyone describes the amazing soup they made 5) Draw numbers out of a hat- the person with number 1 starts first, and chooses the first kind of soup they would like to bring home 6)Go around in a circle until everyone has 6 different and exciting soups to take home and put in the freezer for a chilly North Haven night! Come one, come all! You can attend one event or both! The more the merrier!

• Kids’ Night Out Friday, January 22nd, 5:00-7:00pm Our theme this month is weather. We will eat dinner, watch Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and make a weather collage! Cost for this event is $5/child.
• NH Emergency Services Appreciation Dinner: Saturday, January 23rd, 6:00pm- There will be NO MOVIE this week (watch for signs for next week’s movie!)
• TEEN NIGHT Grades 6 & 7 Sunday, January 24th 6:00-8:00pm Movie, ping-pong, and pizza!
***North Haven Arts & Enrichment is currently accepting submissions from anyone interested in putting on an Independent Theater Production during the summer of 2010 as part of our Summer Enrichment Series. Please contact Rachael Garbowski for more information if you are interested, either through email: programs@watermans.org, or by phone: (207) 867-2100. The submission form can be printed from our website, emailed to you, or picked up in person at Waterman’s Community Center. The deadline for submission is April 31, 2010.***
