This year’s Lobster Roll, organized by the Maine Winter Sports Center in conjunction with Waterman’s Community Center, brought 75 maine college athletes and eight coaches to North Haven. After arriving on the morning ferry the students roller skied a time trial around the South Shore/North Shore loop. They reconvened with volunteers, from both off and on island, for lunch at Waterman’s. Rep. Hannah Pingree came down to speak with the students briefly about the town they were visiting and specifically about some of the current issues facing mid-coast Maine island communities.
