SHOUT After School Shout/ n. a sudden loud outburst, as of laughter/
v. to speak or laugh noisily or unrestrainedly. T G L Creativity is the name of the game in the SHOUT After School Program at WCC. One afternoon a week Kids will work together on projects that allow them to express themselves, use their imaginations and learn more about a variety of communication mediums. Filming and Editing with iMovie September 17-October 9 We will spend the first two sessions collecting footage as we develop a concept and take the cameras outdoors to film. The editing software will allow us to manipulate our footage into a final product – A MOVIE! Digital Photography October 15 – November 6 We will hit the street and different locations on North Haven to capture the changing of the season while we learn to utilize all of the settings of a digital camera. Radio and Podcasts November 12 – December 18 Get ready to have your voices heard. In this section of Shout we will learn about how radio production is done and make some recordings of our own to upload as podcasts. Film Making & Special Effects January 7 – March 5 The possibilities are endless as we learn about how to use special effects with iMovie. Put a friend in outer space, make someone disappear, or stage your own news show. We will develop a storyboard together and learn about the technologies we can use to make the unreal real on screen. Websites & Blogs March 11 – April 16 We will create web pages through the Waterman’s website. We will post text, pictures and chose layout design for a given theme or event. Mixed Media Art April 29 – May 28 Each week we will combine different mediums to make a piece of art including posters, found art, photographs, paintings and more. Schedule
